According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), one in four women and one in nine men experience severe domestic violence at the hands of an intimate partner every minute of every day. An even more alarming statistic is that each year in the United States, one out of every three murder victims are women killed by their domestic partner, family member, or someone they knew well.
