Tip #1: Ensure Your Accident is Properly Reported
It’s important that any slip and fall accident is properly documented. If you do not report your accident, the property owner could try to claim that it never happened. For this reason, you need to report any accident before you leave the property where your fall occurred.
It’s highly recommended that you make your report to a manager, if at all possible. Make sure your incident report form is filled out completely and request a copy for the best results.

Tip #2: Gather Evidence Immediately
A slip and fall lawyer in California will work to investigate your case and gather evidence. You can give your case a jump start by gathering some evidence yourself. Most of us carry phones with cameras in them these days. You can use your phone to take pictures of:
- The place where you fell
- Any hazards that led to your fall
- The injuries caused by your fall
You can also record the contact information for any witnesses who saw you fall. This information can help your lawyer build a strong case for you, increasing the odds that you will secure full compensation for your healthcare costs, time off work, and other losses.
Tip #3: Get Fast Medical Help
You don’t want to wait to get medical treatment after a fall accident in California. Delaying before you seek medical care can allow insurance agents to claim that your injuries were not caused by your fall. This can allow them to refuse your claim, denying you fair compensation.
Getting fast medical treatment creates an official record of your injuries and the care you needed to fully recover. You may even be able to ask a medical professional to write you a letter detailing which of your injuries could be caused by a fall.
The team at the Simmrin Law Group can help you handle meetings with medical personnel after a slip and fall accident. Contact Simmrin Law Group. We are standing by to begin working on your claim right now.

Tip #4: Don’t Speak to Insurance Agents Alone
Insurance agents will likely approach you after your accident. They may try to convince you to accept a deal right away. However, these initial settlement offers are often insufficient to cover all of your losses after a slip and fall accident.
You should always be careful what you say to insurance agents after an accident. They may attempt to get you to admit fault for an accident. They may even try to get you to claim that your injuries are not very severe.
A slip and fall accident lawyer in California can help you safely navigate conversations with insurance agents. In fact, the team at the Simmrin Law Group can take over communication with insurance companies for you, so you can focus on recovering after your accident.
