The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that California roadways had the second highest number of accidents involving large, over the road trucks in the United States. Our state is only second behind the state of Texas in the number of big rig accidents which involve fatalities.
In a story reported on the CBS Local in Los Angeles’ website, one such big rig crash happened on northbound the 5 Freeway, could have been much worse than it was considering how busy the highway normally is. Fortunately for the motorists caught in the traffic snarl, no fatalities were involved.
