Unfortunately, cases of road rage are on the rise on California streets and freeways. When an angry driver acts out their frustration and aggression while behind the wheel, it can quickly become a tragedy.
That appears to have been what happened in a residential area of Los Angeles County over the weekend when a man was found dead on Sunday, November 8. Speedlux reported on its website that the attack happened at approximately 5:48 p.m. on Laurel Park Road in an unincorporated area of Rancho Dominguez.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies at the Carson station received a call reporting an alleged assault following a traffic accident. Deputies responded to the scene at Laurel Park Road to find a 67-year-old man lying in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Eyewitnesses to the incident say that the man had been involved in a crash that involved a Toyota Prius and a Cadillac coupe. The deceased and another man began to argue, and the incident quickly escalated into a fistfight.
The other driver beat the victim, got into the victim’s car, and then repeatedly ran over him. The identity of the victim had not been released at the time of the report.
Once the victim’s car became disabled, the other driver got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Sheriff’s deputies later located the suspect driver. After being identified by an eyewitness, he was taken into custody on suspicion of murder. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials have not released any further information about the suspect.
The accident is currently under investigation.
