On Monday, April 15th, Investigators with the Hamilton Police were responding to what looked like a car crash involving a fatality. Detective Sgt. Bereziuk said in the statement that the teen was found dead in his vehicle; investigators believe that Hassan was killed prior to the crash. The damage to the vehicle and the nature of the crash didn’t appear to have been severe enough to have resulted in the teen’s death. Investigators did retrieve a weapon from the scene.
Eyewitnesses told police that they saw three people running away from the scene of the crash. The coroner’s office confirmed that Hassan had been shot to death. Within an hour after the crash, three teens were arrested on the charge of first-degree murder. Two of the teens are 16-years-old and the third teen is 15-years-old.
Two of the teens appeared before the court on Tuesday and the third is due to appear on Wednesday.
