Daniel Silva, star of reality TV’s Ink Masters, entered a plea of not guilty to murder in court earlier this week for his alleged role in the death of popular YouTuber Corey La Barrie in May.
According to an article appearing on the Oxygen website, 27-year-old Silva was arrested after a crash in Los Angeles.
Court documents indicate that on May 10th, Silva was the driver of the car while La Barrie was riding with him as a passenger. The two were out celebrating LaBarrie’s birthday and were driving through a residential neighborhood when Silva lost control of his sports car. The vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a stop sign. Silva attempted to flee the scene but was prevented from doing so by eyewitnesses to the crash.
Both Silva and La Barrie were transported to an area hospital by paramedics. LaBarrie died later that night as the result of injuries he received in the accident.
Investigators later determined that both Silva and La Barrie had blood alcohol levels well over the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
The charge of murder was initially filed against Silva following the death of La Barrie. Silva pleaded not guilty to the charge, which carries a maximum sentence of between 15 years to life in prison.
