Roads and Highways are the lifeblood of any major city in the US, most of all a major metropolis like Los Angeles and the greater LA area. And, just like our actual veins, when there is a blockage of any kind, that seemingly small problem can quickly expand into a major, life-threatening emergency.
Last Sunday, such a minor blockage led to disaster according to My News LA. A 49-year-old woman was driving a minivan on the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway in Bellflower when she came to a stop for an unknown reason, as is reported by the California Highway Patrol.

As her Toyota Sienna, stopped, this seemingly brief and minor inconvenience turned fatal when a Toyota Solara rear ended her. The woman driving the minivan had still been seated behind the wheel. She was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Solara sustained only minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
This crash happened on Sunday evening around 6:50 p.m., east of Bellflower Boulevard, according to officials. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected as factors in this crash. It is unfortunate, nonetheless.
Just as we must take care of our physical health, keeping our circulatory systems clean and flowing, the lifeblood of our cities must be kept moving. Unfortunately, driver error, distraction, and engine difficulties can cause that free flow to break down, leading to fatal accidents such as this one.
