“The collision with the center divider wall, and subsequent collision from the 2017 Honda, caused significant intrusion to the passenger compartment of the Isuzu,” stated the California Highway Patrol. Two people in the truck died, including a 15-year-old boy. The box truck driver was hospitalized with moderate injuries, while the driver of the car that hit the truck head-on was hospitalized with major injuries.
The fourth vehicle was hit by concrete debris from the destruction of the wall, but the driver escaped without injury.
Our condolences go out to the families of the slain victims. We hope that everyone who was injured makes a full recovery. If the driver was intoxicated at the time of the incident, she will now face serious criminal and potentially civil charges.
